Livingston Meals on Wheels

To provide nutritious meals to persons 60 years and older regardless of their backgrounds or ability to pay. Most seniors can't afford to donate anything for their meals, but we still provide them with nutritious meals. We rely heavily on donations from the community. Join us in helping our seniors maintain their independence. 

Each year, we serve over 11,800 meals.

Last fiscal year we served over 8,500 meals to our home-delivered meals are for seniors who are medically homebound or homebound for other reasons. They must receive our meals and social interactions from our drivers as well as perform welfare checks during delivery to maintain their independence. Most of our home-delivered clients can't afford to pay anything for their meals, we rely mostly on donations from the community and volunteers.

We serve over 3,000 congregate meals in the senior center. We offer a soup and salad bar on Tuesdays, and many of our congregate clients have said that without it, they wouldn't be able to afford to buy salad and items for their salads as they are on tight budgets and can't afford to waste food.

We only ask for a $6 suggested donation per meal from seniors over 60 years of age. A lot of our seniors cannot afford to pay anything, which is why we ask for donations each year as we never turn a hungry senior away.
