Park County Environmental Council
About this Organization
PCEC was founded in 1990 to create a local voice for the wild in one of North America's most critical habitat areas. From wild and working ranchlands to montane forests, Montana's highest peak, and the headwaters of the longest free-flowing river in the Lower 48, our conservation work takes place on Indigenous lands in the wild, rural landscape of Yellowstone's northern gateway.
The natural beauty of our home is no secret, and it's under threat. Accelerating industrial, commercial, and residential development is fragmenting habitat, harming wildlife, and impacting the Yellowstone River. The high price of housing is making it harder for residents to afford a home. A warming climate threatens our wildlife, our air and water, and our communities, as seen during the 2022 flood. And now -- just when those who care for and steward our landscapes need more support, not less -- there are unprecedented cuts to federal funding and personnel.
With your support, we can protect these special spaces for future generations of people and wildlife to call home. Please join us, and thank you for being part of what makes this community so special.
