Livingston Bike Club

The Livingston Bike Club (LBC) is a group of passionate local Park County residents dedicated to more people on more bikes for more reasons. Together we aim to build new multi-use trails, continue to maintain the trails we have, and promote stewardship through partnership and community.

Our group plans, builds, clears and maintains multi-use trails and trailheads in Livingston and Park County, in partnership with the National Forest Service, local government, and other local conservation organizations. We provide over 500 hours of annual maintenance on average and believe strongly in collaborative trail stewardship. We raise funds for trail improvements, trailhead restoration, weed pulling and monitoring, native seed planting, access improvements, reroutes, and building new trails. We are the official trail adopter of the new Porcupine/Ibex reroute in the Crazy Mountains, O-Street Connector in Livingston, Suce Creek, and North Dry/West Pine. We most recently put in a new 2 mile looped trail southeast of town near Livingston and since 2012 we have improved and rerouted trails in North Dry, West Pine, Suce Creek, George Lake, Wicked Creek, Porcupine and many others. Trails are an essential part of residents' and visitors' quality of life, and so it is essential that we are the best stewards we can possibly be. 

LBC is proud to announce the groundbreaking of a new multi-use 2.3-mile single track trail to connect the West Pine and North Dry Creek trailheads in Paradise Valley.  We invite you to support this exciting community project by contributing to our fundraising drive or volunteer efforts. 

Thirteen years in the making, this non-motorized trail on National Forest land creates new loop options and centralizes recreation on National Forest land within an existing trail system. By eliminating the 10-mile shuttle between trailheads along Trail Creek Road, this connector reduces steep-road traffic, increases safety, and lowers fire risk.  

LBC works closely with our partners to ensure the trail is purpose built and consciously designed, resulting in a more accessible and enjoyable trail for more users.  The “Dry Pine Connector” will conform to USFS trail standards while exceeding traditional lowest-bid trail quality. By maintaining low grades, long lines of sight for greater safety of diverse users, and a fun, 'flowy' feel, the result is a top class trail at a cost per foot comparable to new bike trails nearby with reduced downstream maintenance. This long-awaited trail - spearheaded by Park County resident volunteers - is being built through a partnership with Livingston Bike Club, Yellowstone Ranger District and Integrated Trail Lab professional trail builders. 

LBC has worked closely with the Yellowstone Ranger District since our club’s inception in 2012, securing grants and contributing thousands of in-kind volunteer hours to reroute steep older stock trails, improve trailheads, maintain existing tread, conduct weed pulls and protect access to this area.  For this new phase, we have secured a grant for $30k and are providing $35k+ of in-kind volunteer hours to flag, clear and hand-finish the trail. We still need to raise an additional $50,000 to see it through to completion!
