ABOUT BEFRIENDERS

Since 1993, Befrienders has connected community volunteers with senior citizens across Park & Gallatin County for friendship, support, & advocacy. 

WHO WE SERVE

We currently support more than 140 active volunteer–senior matches across Park & Gallatin Valley. Since July 2025, we have supported more than 250+ seniors through our two programs. We have been serving Livingston seniors since 2023 and are excited to keep growing in this area! Nearly 50% of the seniors we serve live alone, and many can no longer drive, making regular social connections difficult. Research shows chronic loneliness can have serious health impacts for older adults, including a higher risk of dementia or heart disease. 

OUR REACH

We are growing across Southwest Montana. Our reach has extended into rural communities where older adults may face the highest levels of isolation. Currently, Befrienders is serving seniors in Livingston, Bozeman, Belgrade, Manhattan, Three Forks, Willow Creek, Whitehall, Gallatin Gateway, & Big Sky.

OUR PROGRAMS

Our Befriend-A-Senior program matches volunteers with seniors for weekly visits filled with conversation, walks, community events, or shared activities.

Through Lend-A-Hand, Volunteers also help with small but important tasks that allow seniors to remain safe and independent at home.

WHY IT MATTERS

A weekly visit or a helping hand can change someone’s life. Befrienders is building a Park County where no senior has to age alone. Through meaningful friendships and small acts of service, we help seniors stay connected, supported, and valued.
