To provide a venue for Shields Valley and Montana farmers, ranchers, and independently owned businesses to sell produce, flowers, herbs, house plants, meat, and other homemade products. To continually grow the customer base for those products by including artisans, food purveyors and other vendors that provide entertainment, social activities and other attractions for the entire community and visitors. To provide sustainable practices through education and incentives.
This friendly market serves the Shields Valley community from Livingston to White Sulphur Springs. The market features local produce, food products, art, crafts, and also dinner by local chefs, live music and weekly kids' activities. It operates on Monday evenings from 4:30 to 7 PM at Holliday Park, a block east of Highway 89 in Clyde Park, and Veterans Park in Wilsall. Clyde Park on June 29, July 13, July 27 and August 10. Wilsall on July 6, July 20, August 3, and August 17.
In addition to the rural, ranchland nature of this market, there are a few things that make it unique. Most importantly, it is a community gathering where almost everyone who attends has dinner together at the picnic tables in the park. This neighborhood-feel is enhanced by the wonderful playgrounds and room for the kids to run and ride their bikes. The Shields Valley Farmers Market is as much a community gathering as it is a market, which makes it an authentic rural Montana experience.
