Yellowstone Safe Passages

A nonprofit organization

Our mission is to support collaborative solutions that address and resolve wildlife-vehicle conflicts on Highway 89 (Livingston to Gardiner).

We are a community of citizens who live, work, and play in the Upper Yellowstone watershed. Our partners include state and federal agencies, park county elected officials, private foundations, community groups, environmental groups, anglers, local landowners, business owners, and individuals who are working to enhance the safety of people and wildlife traveling along Highway 89.

We envision Upper Yellowstone to be a place where visitors and locals can travel the highway without wildlife-related accidents, and where the highway doesn't act as a barrier to annual and seasonal movement of Yellowstone's wildlife populations. The intended results will be increased public awareness, advanced partnerships between local and regional stakeholders, and reduced wildlife-vehicle conflicts.
